Join us on the 4th of June for an enriching art workshop hosted by acclaimed local artist Marguerite Dolan.
A long-time cherished guest and celebrated artist, Marguerite’s workshops are well-known throughout the Boyne Valley and often sell out quickly. For this special event, we are transforming the beautiful Carriage Suite into a private artist’s studio, offering a unique and creative escape in the heart of Ireland’s countryside!
Each guest will have their own canvas and an opportunity to paint something very special to remember their trip by, all under the tutelage of Marguerite. Spaces are limited for this workshop. Early booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
Reconnect your mind and body with an afternoon focused on wellness. The workshop begins at 2:00 PM with a 90-minute Pilates mat class led by Audrey of Haven Studios. Suitable for all levels—including beginners—this class will focus on strength, flexibility, and mindful movement.
Following the Pilates session, the group will head to the Hot Box Sauna at Bective Mill, just two miles from The Station House. Here, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute session in a custom-crafted alder wood sauna. For those feeling adventurous, there’s an optional cold water dip in the River Boyne—a rejuvenating experience known for its physical and mental health benefits!
After the sauna, guests will return to The Station House for a calming 30-minute stretch and decompress session with Audrey. Top off your wellness experience with an evening of fine dining and relaxation in the peaceful surroundings of our historic hotel and gardens.
Discover the art of gardening and landscaping with our resident landscaper Martin Fagan.
The Station House gardens, long celebrated on the Boyne Valley Garden Trail and recently featured in Shirley Lanigan’s Open Gardens of Ireland, stand as a lasting testament to expert craftsmanship and care. Over the past five years, Martin—known fondly as Marty—has brought renewed energy and creativity to the estate’s landscaping, working closely with Thelma and Suzanne Slattery, who share a deep passion for gardening and nature.
Spend an afternoon with Marty as he shares his expert advice. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just beginning your landscaping journey, this is a rare opportunity to gain personal insights from one of Ireland’s most talented landscape designers!
Located less than 1 km from the hotel, Swainstown Farm has been a proud partner of The Station House for many years, supplying us with fresh, seasonal vegetables, salads, flowers, eggs, and—when available—lamb, all harvested and delivered the very same day.
Owners, Arthur & Larrissa, are dedicated to producing healthy, nutrient-dense food while promoting ecosystems, biodiversity, and reducing carbon emissions and waste. Their farm is 100% chemical-free with a focus on regenerative agriculture and protection of wild areas.
The afternoon begins at 2:00 PM at Swainstown Farm, where Arthur will lead a two-hour tour through the fields and gardens. You’ll gain insights into their sustainable farming methods, learn practical tips for eco-friendly growing, and hear firsthand about the importance of regenerative farming for future generations.
Following the tour, return to The Station House Hotel for an interactive cookery demonstration with our Head Chef, Gordon Mooney. Chef Gordon will showcase how we transform Swainstown’s fresh ingredients into beautifully crafted dishes, giving you a real taste of the farm-to-table philosophy that defines our kitchen.
Check in and experience everything our beautiful location has to offer. Take advantage of our complimentary bicycles to explore the lush Boyne Valley, with scenic cycle routes to historic sites such as Bective Abbey (4 km) and the Hill of Tara (6 km).
For those who prefer walking, enjoy the beauty of Meath along several nearby off-road trails — or simply relax on the Terrace or by the fires and let yourself truly switch off.
On Tuesday evening, indulge in 100% Irish casual dining from our Platform Bar & Terrace Bites Menus, featuring signature dishes such as our Station House Smokies, Atlantic Prawn & Monkfish Curry, The Sharing Board with local Boyne Valley charcuterie and cheeses, and many more tempting options to savour.
After a restful night, wake up to a delicious, freshly cooked-to-order breakfast, setting you up perfectly for a day filled with treats and activities.
