Wedding Spotlight: Rhiannon & Andrew

A Wonderfully Witchy Wedding at The Station House Hotel

To kick off our Wedding Spotlight series, we have the perfect autumn wedding to share—and just in time for Halloween!

U.S.-based couple Rhiannon and Andrew embarked on their wedding journey, bringing 70 guests across the Atlantic to Ireland, where they experienced the Emerald Isle at its most radiant— draped in shades of crimson, amber, and gold.

Their Journey To Us

Nestled in the heart of the Boyne Valley, our boutique luxury hotel—once a bustling 19th century train station— is a cozy, enchanting space rich in history and brimming with character. It’s a little bit of magic and a whole lot of charm that made The Station House Hotel the perfect venue for Rhiannon and Andrew’s storybook wedding.

The couple dreamed of a venue that blended beauty, fine food, and warm Irish hospitality, and that’s where we come in! As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home, and our award-winning cuisine is crafted with only the best, freshest, and locally sourced ingredients.

Whether your dream wedding is mystical, traditional, or a blend of both, we’re here to make it everything you imagined and more. Download our wedding brochure and check out dates for our upcoming wedding showcase events!

"We loved that in Ireland the late night partying is prioritised. Fun fact, I found The Station House Hotel on One Fab Day. We fell in love with the venue because of the stunning environment and, above all, the charming staff." -Rhiannon

Like Rhiannon, many couples find ideas and inspiration on One Fab Day, which is packed with incredible features and stories of real weddings. Be sure to check out their coverage of Rhiannon and Andrew’s day– But first, here’s our own account of their magical celebration!

A Spellbinding First Look

The wedding day began with Rhiannon and her bridesmaids getting ready in our adorable Signal Suite, the former signal box at Kilmessan Junction. With its rustic charm and vintage accents, this petite suite is a photographer’s dream—and the perfect place for pre-wedding giggles and bridal snapshots.

Meanwhile, Andrew was preparing in The Station Master Suite, a cozy haven once home to the Station Master himself. Dressed in a timeless brown-checkered suit, Andrew looked every bit the dapper groom, calmly sipping tea by the window as he took in the view of the hotel gardens!

An Enchanted Woodland Ceremony

For their vows, Rhiannon and Andrew chose our outdoor ceremony space, encircled by the hotel’s serene woodlands. Rhiannon glided down a fairy-lit, lantern-lined path leading to the Turntable—a charming stone amphitheater steeped in history, once used to turn trains toward Dublin. Surrounded by towering trees and manicured gardens, the Turntable served as the ideal setting for their nature-inspired wedding, making it the perfect place to say “I do.”

In a nod to Irish tradition, Rhiannon and Andrew chose a hand-fasting ceremony, where the couple’s hands are bound with ribbon to symbolize their unity. Adding a personal touch, the ribbon was lovingly crocheted by Rhiannon’s aunt, a resident of Cork!

"Our celebrant Niamh just killed it, she was unbelievable. We had some rain during our ceremony and she made it seem like an Irish adventure for all of our guests. She told our story so beautifully and with such humour – it was like she had known us forever." - Rhiannon

Cocktails, Canapés, and Sunset Cheers

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on The Platform Bar and Terrace to enjoy cocktails and canapés. Laughter and conversation filled the air as everyone toasted the happy couple, while the sun gently dipped below the trees.

An Elegant Reception in The Carriage Suite

Originally a workshop for locomotive engineers, The Carriage Suite set the stage for the evening’s grand reception. Now a spacious yet intimate venue, the suite features eucalyptus-framed windows, original stone walls, and a lush canopy of foliage.

Rhiannon and Andrew opted for a cozy sweetheart table, stealing a few treasured moments together as newlyweds before DJ Aidan Kavanagh cranked up the music and everyone danced the night away!
